BCC is fully engaged with the regulators in mainland Europe and the UK to ensure that regulations relating to health and safety do not adversely effect the Industry.The complicated nature and volume of health and safety legislation today is such that the BCC provides an active compliance mechanism to ensure that Industry can assimilate the legislation with minimal difficulty.

One major medium by which the BCC enables the Industry to comply is through the comprehensive Industry health and safety programme known as the Ceramic Industry Health and Safety Pledge. The Pledge has forged a genuine partnership with the trades unions and at the same time ensures that excellent relations are maintained with the regulators.
