The Safe Use of Lead in Tableware
In 1989 the world's leading tableware manufacturers formed the Coalition for Safe Ceramicware in response to regulatory concerns regarding the use of lead and certain other substances in the manufacture of tableware. In almost all cases, concerns had arisen from incomplete or incorrectly manufactured ware, and the major reputable manufacturers comply with all established international standards and strive to ensure that ceramicware is safe for food use.
