BCC team on stage at Ceramics UK
The British Ceramic Confederation will once again be at the Ceramics UK exhibition and conference. BCC’s Technical Director, Dr Andrew McDermott and Policy Manager Rachel Timmins will be speaking at the event.
Ceramics UK aims to bring together industry, academia and commercial R&D involved in the latest technical ceramic solutions. Co-located with the Advanced Materials Show, Battery Cells & Systems Expo, and Vehicle Electrification Expo, the four shows will welcome more than 300 exhibitors and 4,500 visitors.
The event takes place on 29 and 30 June at the NEC, Birmingham.
Andrew, who leads energy and emissions for BCC, will chair a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Making Materials Manufacturing Sustainable’.
He said: “I am thrilled to have been invited back to share views on the sector’s plans to transition to net zero operations and net zero production. The event brings together all aspects of technical ceramics and is a real focal point for the industry. It will be great to meet up with people and discuss the opportunities for the sector.”
Rachel, who leads BCC’s Employment Policy Committee and works with the National Manufacturing Skills Taskforce, is speaking at a panel discussion entitled ‘Building Better Investment, Innovation and Skills Partnerships’. The session aims to provide ideas and constructive steps towards a more diverse, skilled, collaborative, well-funded and commercially competitive materials sector.
Rachel said: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to share our knowledge on this important topic. It will be great to hear from other panellists, as well as members and non-members at the expo.”
BCC Chief Executive Rob Flello said: “We are all looking forward to this excellent exhibition and conference. It will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the extensive work of the BCC and also to catch up with members.”
