Pledge Conference and Awards gets under way next month with guest speakers lined up to share their expert knowledge on health and safety.

The event, on October 13, will recognise the people and initiatives that have driven health and safety improvement across the ceramics sector over the past year. The awards will focus on companies, individuals, and contractors, rewarding their hard work.

The conference will also give BCC members the opportunity to share best practice and learn from the experts.

This year’s keynote speaker is Professor Tim Marsh, managing director of Anker and Marsh and a Visiting Professor at Plymouth University. He is also the author of several books, including A Definitive Guide to Behavioural Safety, Total Safety Culture and Talking Safety. His talk will look at Health & Safety Leadership and Culture.

Ed Corbett, from the HSE, will also join the conference, building on a previous presentation,  ‘leadership through change’. Since returning to HSE in 2016, Ed has worked extensively on the topic of health and safety leadership and we are pleased to welcome him back this year.

Lauren Darby, BCC Safety, Health & Environment Director, said: “We are very much looking forward to this year’s Pledge. We are looking to do things a little differently this year and to get people thinking about health and safety in a different way.

“We have experienced speakers joining us and members will certainly have plenty of food for thought. We hope it is an informative, rewarding, and fun day that will provide an opportunity to celebrate all that has been achieved by our members and by Pledge.”

Registration is open to attend our annual event, which takes place on 13 October at the Doubletree by Hilton, in Stoke-on-Trent. Details here.
