The Ceramic Innovation Network (CIN) - created by BCC and Lucideon, with support from the University of Surrey and Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) - arranges annual events for the UK ceramic research base and industrialists around themes based on the principal challenges faced by the ceramic industry that may be solved through innovation and collaborative work.
Topics covered to-date (and to be covered in 2018) include:
2014 Defect Reduction in Structural Ceramics: Problems and Practical Solutions
2015 Reduce-Replace-Recycle: Effective Material Resource Management in Ceramics
2016 Energy Efficiency in Ceramic Processing
2017 Digital Technologies in Ceramic Manufacturing
2018 Ceramics in Society: Demanding Environments (Wednesday, 11th April)
CIN builds upon the former Structural Ceramics Network (SCERN), which was an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded network, the primary purpose of which was to bring together the structural ceramics community to increase co-operation and integration.
