Chemicals and REACH

At present, every company that imports or manufactures chemicals in quantities exceeding 100 tonnes per annum must register the substance by submitting a dossier to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). From 1st June 2018, that threshold for registration reduced to 1 tonne per annum.

The British Ceramic Confederation is fully engaged with the HSE and Defra in the UK, and through Cerame-Unie, EU regulators. We aim to ensure that regulation relating to Chemicals does not adversely affect the industry.
